Service Update: Home Drive (U: drive) Storage Decommission
The process of decommissioning the personal home drive (known as the U: drive) started in December 2021. OIT will be publishing guides for self-migration as well as offer assisted or automated migrations beginning Spring 2022 to alternative cloud storage locations.
- Personal Rice Home Drives (known as the U: drive) are no longer provisioned.
- Websites hosted on the Personal Rice Home Drives will need to be migrated to Blogs if they need to be maintained.
- Unused and/or empty U: drives will be automatically decommissioned (beginning December 2021)
- Group and/or Departmental storage drives are not part of these service changes.
Data migrated to OneDrive by OIT will show up in your OneDrive in a folder called UDriveMigration.
Your Role During Decommission
1. Review the data in your personal storage home directory (U: drive) and delete unwanted files.
