Migration to Microsoft 365 Exchange/Exchange Online

This document is addressing the Rice University Microsoft Exchange On-premise email transition to cloud-based Microsoft 365/Exchange Online. If you have an Exchange account and your email and calendar have migrated, follow the instructions below to sign in to Outlook Web Application (OWA).

 Important Information

  • To access email via Outlook Web App (OWA), go to https://outlook.office.com  and sign in using your NetId@rice.edu email address and NetID password.
  • Due to the cyber security policy, forwarding email from Microsoft 365/Exchange Online to another email account will no longer be allowed or supported. 
  • If you have previously setup your mobile devices to access email prior to the Microsoft 365 migration, you will need to remove the Email account and add a new email account.  Instructions on how to add a new account

Step 1After the migration, open Outlook. You will see a Microsoft sign in prompt.

Step 2:  Click Sign in with another account.

Step 3:  Enter NetID@rice.edu and click Next.

Step 4:  Select Work or school account if prompted.

Step 5:  Enter your Netid Password and click Sign in.
