TS&S Technical Support Services: Overview

Technology Solutions & Services (TS&S, formerly OIT) is the university's central IT office, providing technology support and services across academic, research, and administrative areas.

TS&S supports Rice faculty, staff, and students with their tech needs in various ways – see the Support Services list below.  When you need guidance or have a technical issue, contact the IT Service Desk, the centralized point of contact for Rice IT support services, including account management, connectivity to the Rice network, password reset, general troubleshooting, mobile device support, VPN configuration, email setup, and more.

Support Services

Service Desk

The TS&S Service Desk is your central contact for IT support and troubleshooting, and our goal is to provide you with an excellent service experience!

We offer both in-person and remote support services, and all requests are associated with a support ticket. 

*After-hours support available for urgent issues, please call.

Operations Center

Hours: Monday - Friday

(excluding university holidays)

During the Fall and Spring Semesters

Services

The staff of the Mudd Operations Center:

  • monitor the equipment in the Mudd Data Center
  • manage plotter printers in Mudd and place printed posters in the lobby for pick up 
  • serve as the point of contact for instructors using media services and for faculty/staff picking up or dropping off Rice-owned equipment
