WhooRU.rice.edu is replacing MyNetID.rice.edu in the summer of 2025.

The original switchover date of June 18 has been postponed until some potential issues can be addressed. Certain links and commands in this document will not become active until WhooRU is activated.

If you have forgotten your NetID password and know your NetID, you are able to recover it at WhooRU.rice.edu.

On the WhooRU.rice.edu login screen, select the Forgot Password hyperlink. 

When you’re ready to begin the password reset process, click Next. Enter your NetID, Legal Last Name, and then submit. 

Verify your Identity by selecting one of the verification options listed on the screen. You can verify via email, text message, or by authenticating with Duo. After making your selection, a message on the screen will appear indicating that your request has been received, and instructions have been sent. 

Follow the link provided in the instructions to Continue Forgot Password Process. 

Enter your new password following the defined password requirements criteria, and re-enter the password again to confirm. Once completed, you'll be redirected to the WhooRU login screen and prompted to sign in with your newly set password.

NOTE: 

• New Rice Google account holders use their NetID password to log into Google.
• Individuals with Rice Google accounts that were established prior to May 17, 2021, will continue to have a separate Google password that differs from their NetID password until they change one of the passwords. Then, the passwords will automatically be synchronized. If individuals would prefer to have one less password to remember, they may synchronize them by resetting their password at https://WhooRU.rice.edu.
