Microsoft Outlook 2016 Rice LDAP Addressbook Configuration

This document defines how to set up Rice Directory services for use with Outlook as an addressbook.

 You will need: 

  • Current Rice NetID account
  • Microsoft Outlook application
  • Internet connection

Step 1:  Launch Microsoft Outlook 2016

Step 2: Select File, then click Account Settings and Account Settings again

Step 3: Select Address Book and New
Account Settings: Select Address Book and then New
Step 4: Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and Click Next>
 
Add Directory
Step 5: Type the Server Name directory.rice.edu and your login credentials User Name: and Password: then Click More Settings...
Change Account
Step 5: Type the Display name ldap.rice.edu and Click Search

Step 6: Under Search Base type ou=people,dc=rice,dc=edu then Click OK

Step 7: Click Finish
 

Addressbook Finish

Your Rice address book setup is complete.
