Proofpoint: FAQ
This document addresses some frequently asked questions about Proofpoint.
For more information on Proofpoint, see Proofpoint: Getting Started with Proofpoint
- How does email filtering work?
- The Proofpoint Protection Server filters all incoming (and outgoing) emails. Based on Proofpoint Protection Server rules and policies, messages are "scored." In the case of spam, the message score indicates the probability that the message is spam. Therefore, a message with a score of 100 would have a 100% chance of being spam and will be found in the Spam-Quarantined section of the Proofpoint Web Application.
-
Quarantined messages can be found by logging in to the Proofpoint Web Application.
- What is Quarantine?
- The Quarantine is the location on a server where email messages that are suspected to be spam are stored.
- What is the End User Digest?
- An End User Digest is an email report of the spam added to your quarantine that day. The end user digest is sent daily and summarizes the email that is being quarantined on your account. This feature is turned on by default. Learn more in Proofpoint: End User Digest
