Microsoft 365 Exchange in Outlook (First-time Setup)
The following steps are for first-time setup using Outlook in Microsoft 365 Exchange. If you have Outlook email client software installed and running On-Premises Exchange, you will not need a fresh install of that client software. However, please be sure that your email client is up to date. Outlook for Mac 2011 and 2016 and Windows Outlook 2010 and 2013 are no longer supported by Microsoft. Update desktop client software to Outlook 2016 or 2019 for Windows and Outlook 2019 for Mac.
Step 1 - Open Outlook. Enter netid@rice.edu in Email address field, then click Connect

Step 2 - Select Microsoft 365

Step 3 - If you have not already signed in to Microsoft in your Office app, you will be prompted to sign in. Enter your NetID Password, the click Sign in.

Step 4 - Uncheck "Allow my organization to manage my device" and click "No, sign in to this app only"

Step 5 - Click Done.
