WhooRU: Changing your NetID Password
WhooRU.rice.edu is replacing MyNetID.rice.edu in the summer of 2025.

The original switchover date of June 18 has been postponed until some potential issues can be addressed. Certain links and commands in this document will not become active until WhooRU is activated.

Steps for Changing Your NetID Password

Log in to the online account management system, WhooRU.rice.edu.

Select the authentication method you want to use.

Respond to the Duo prompt requiring authentication. NOTE: If you do not respond to the Duo request promptly, it will time out, and you’ll need to re-select the authentication method again.

Once logged in to WhooRU, go to My Passwords.

The Reset Password box with the defined password criteria listed will be shown.

Enter your new password, ensuring it satisfies the requirements listed. As you type, guidance will indicate whether the password meets the requirements.

Re-enter the password, then click Reset Password.
NOTE: It may take several minutes to synchronize your new password with campus systems.
FAQs
Q: What's the difference between resetting vs. changing your password?
A: Reset your password when you forget and need to recover your NetID account password. Changing your password is when you know your NetID password and want to change it. You must already be enrolled in Duo for authentication to log in and change your password.
