Kaltura: Where to find your videos in Canvas
This article will show you where you can find your videos in your course.
Where to Find Videos in your Canvas Course
Rice now uses Kaltura as its video management system (except for the Jones school). You can find your videos in Canvas in two different tools- My Media and Media Gallery.
If you do not see these tools on your course navigation bar, please follow these instructions.
In order to activate Kaltura in your course, first drag and drop My Media and Media Gallery onto your course navigation bar (menu on left side of screen #1). In order to make changes to the tools listed on your course navigation bar, click on Settings on the left side course menu (#2) and access the Navigation Tab (#3). Then, click and drag both My Media and Media Gallery (#4) into the top section, and click Save at the bottom of the page. If you do not see these tools on your Navigation page, your course is likely not allowed to use this tool. If you think there is an error, please email teaching@rice.edu.
Once you click Save, My Media and Media Gallery will appear on your course navigation menu and you and your students will have access to them. (See Below)
Clicking on "Media Gallery" in your course navigation bar will allow you to view all the video within that course. Please note that all media in Media Gallery is published by default. If you do not want students to see all the videos, you will need to go to Actions, Publish, and set each video to private.
