Paragraph: The title of the document is Heading 1 so start with Heading 2.  Use heading levels in order. For example, heading 4 is the subheading of heading 3. Don't just pick a heading based on appearance. Using nested headers in the appropriate order helps individuals using screen readers to navigate the contents.

  • Numbered or bulleted lists can be helpful for lists or steps.
  • Tables can help clarity.
  • Do not use horizontal lines to define sections except after a table of contents to indicate the start of the document.

[Heading 3]  Table of Contents

[Paragraph] : You can manually create a table of contents at the top of the document by defining the headers as anchors. Learn how in How to Create Anchor Tags and Links.

[Heading 2]  Graphical Aids

[Paragraph] Screenshots and other graphics that can enhance a reader's understanding are encouraged. Do not include images that are only meant to be pleasing and don't add to comprehension. To insert a screenshot or graphic, the file should have the format of .png, .jpg, or .gif. Learn more about images in KB. The graphic must have alt text to meet accessibility requirements.
