Campus Email Message Sent on 9-29-22

Dear Colleagues,

We continue to see aggressive phishing attacks directed at our user community.

We are currently receiving reports of attacks attempting to steal iO usernames and passwords. The message has a subject entitled “Important Notification” sent from “Rice University <ah76@rice.edu>”. This email is malicious.

If you receive an email like this please do not take action on it and delete it. If you have clicked on any links, entered any usernames or passwords, or replied to the sender, please change your password as soon as possible and contact the OIT Help Desk at 713-348-HELP or helpdesk@rice.edu.

If you have already reported this to us, thank you. Please remain vigilant and be skeptical of unusual emails. As always, if you receive an email that you have questions about, please report it to the Help Desk.
