Consulting and Help
To request help, ask a question, or schedule a consultation, you may contact us in several ways.
Office Hours
We hold in-person office hours every Tuesday from 10am - 2pm in Mudd 101A. (Also listed on the Rice Events calendar.)
Please note: TSS (formerly OIT) and the CRC will be moving out of Mudd to a new building in June, 2026. The CRC office hours will continue after that, but we don’t yet know exactly where they will be held. Stay tuned - we’ll let you know once we know.
Stop by to ask any questions you have regarding Rice's Research Computing resources and/or the services offered by the CRC. We cover topics such as running jobs on our compute clusters, setting up virtual machines on ORION, handling large and/or sensitive datasets, visualizing data, research software, and many others. See also our services.
New for Spring 2026: You're also welcome to stop by the Research Data & AI Office Hours, offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There, members of the CRC work with our partners in Fondren Library to help answer questions related to research computing, AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), data management, and digital scholarship.
