Canvas: Students How To Use Group Files ( "drop box")
This document explains how students can upload Word, PowerPoint, and PDF documents, and share with classmates in the specific group. Instructors can create small groups and students will be notified that such group was created.
1. Click Groups from your Global Navigation Menu.
2. Click the group name. - If you are not sure which one, then follow these steps:
a. Go to your course in Canvas.
b. Click People from the course menu.
c. Click the Groups tab.
d. You will see the name of the group that your instructor created to share documents. Click the Visit link associated with it.
3. You are now in your course group's site. Click on the Files menu from the left.
Now you are in the shared folder/files area. To read your classmates content, just click on the file. If it takes a while, use the download button at the top. To upload a file, use the upload button at top right. If you need to create a folder, use the +Folder button. (After typing the folder name, use the return/enter key on your keyboard.)
