Scheduling Consultations

The Rice Learning Environments team does not provide direct support of events. We do offer to consult with event coordinators in many instance and can assist by working with event vendors that are hired by the department.

We can, however, schedule students from the TechTA Program to assist with events that occur in OTR scheduled classrooms. Because the TechTA program is funded by the administration for the purpose of assisting with courses, we do need a funding source to back-bill the department for the student's salary. PLEASE NOTE: Unless it is installed in the venue, Learning Environments does not provide:

• loaner equipment (eg, laptops)
• remote presentation clicker
• laser pointers
• microphones
• microphone stands
• tables or chairs (e.g., for panel discussions)
• food
• easels

These materials are provided by departments or the speaker sponsoring groups or can be requested from Rice’s Housing and Dining and from the AV Media Equipment Reservations at the Rice Memorial Center.
