Mail settings for configuring IoT devices to send email

When an IoT device requires the ability to send email, an OIT provided service account should be requested and used. IoT devices should NOT be configured with individual NetID accounts or personal non-Rice accounts. Rice Faculty or Staff members can submit a request for an authorized service account to the OIT Help Desk. That Rice Faculty or Staff member will be responsible for the reasonable usage of the account. If any abuse of the account is observed, it could be automatically disabled.

Please note that IoT device mail settings will vary depending on type and manufacturer.
