Create a Website
Create a website! Every Rice University faculty, staff, and student can create one or more sites in Rice University Blogs.
BlogsCreate a blog by logging in with your NetID and NetID Password. Point your browser to: blogs.rice.edu. There are many Rice themes you can use to create a blog that works as a Rice department or group web site.
Hosting a WebsiteFor personal websites, Rice offers all Net ID accounts the ability to use a domain corresponding with your Net ID. It is hosted on your U: Drive, under the U: Public/www folder. To access your personal website, go to "yourNetID.web.rice.edu" or "yourMailAlias.web.rice.edu". For sites in departmental other storage areas, a hostname needs to be configured. Make sure the subfolder containing the site is inside the shared Public\www folder and that it is named something like x.rice.edu (whatever the primary name of the site will be). Then submit a request to email@example.com asking to have that folder linked to a specific hostname.
