Issues receiving Emails on personal accounts Forwarded from Rice.edu
Individuals are not receiving complete message when forwarding their @rice.edu email to a personal account.
Problem:
The known incidents identified are when people forward their
@rice.edu email address to 3rd party email providers (such as a personal @yahoo.com, @outlook.com, or other) and their
provider's settings or configurations are blocking, filtering aspects of the email, and in
some cases, quarantining it from being received.
Why:
Email providers create rules and default settings for a number of reasons including common ones such as limiting security risks or resource capacity concerns.
Workaround:
IT support is limited to suggesting customers reaching out to their email service provider directly or support forums for "How To's"' on available procedures to change settings or configurations.
