Connect a Windows 7 Computer to Rice Owls

First, You need to add Rice Owls as a network. Then you will need to specially configure the security properties of the Rice Owls network.

Adding Rice Owls

From Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet, click on Network and Sharing Center as shown below.

Click Manage Wireless Networks, then click Add to add the secure wireless network called Rice Owls

Click Manually connect to a wirless network.Enter in the following information:
In the Network Name: field, enter Rice Owls.
In the Security Type: field, select WPA2-Enterprise.
In the Encryption Type: field, select AES.
Check Start this connection automatically.

Then click Next. Click Change connection settings. Select the Security tab in the dialog box that appears.

Copy the settings from the screenshot above.
Then click on Settings and copy the settings below:

Then click on Configure and uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) box.

Now you are back at the Security tab of the "Rice Owls Network Properties". Click on *Advanced Settings".

Then choose *User authenticatiom" in the *Specify authentication mode tab.

Click on Save credentials and add your Netid and Password.

Now try to connect to Rice Owls and enter your NetID and Password.
After a little bit , you should be fully connected to the Rice Owls network.
