KB User's Guide - Documents Tab - Archive or Delete a Template

The template feature in KB Admin Tools makes it easier for KB authors to replicate frequently used document formats and styles. This document shows you how to remove an existing template so it can no longer be used to create new documents.

Note Information icon

Archiving or deleting a template will only prevent new documents from being created with that template. It will not have any effect on documents that were previously created.

To remove an existing template:

  1. To find your template, go to the Documents tab and select the Templates link in the left-hand navigation. This will display all of your current templates.

  2. Select the title of the template you wish to archive or delete, then:

    • To archive the template, select the Edit button, use the status dropdown next to the "Save Draft" button to select either Archive or Request to archive..., depending on your permissions.

    • To delete the template (which requires having "Publish" permissions), use the status dropdown to select Move to trash.
